2023 Charged Up -Off Season
STEMley Cup – November 2023 – Winner
Hosted by Team Makeshift – 4039 and Celt-X – 5406, Makeshift leant us their 2023 Robot, taught our students how to drive and the rules. The team was chosen by the top alliance to compete with them in the finals and they won!
STEMley Cup – November 2023 – Imagery Award
We went with the STEMley Cup theme and we wore hockey jerseys to the event. Our enthusiasm was welcomed by being awarded the Imagery Award at the event.
2024 Season – Crescendo
Centennial College District Event – March 2024 – Semi-finalist
Our first FRC competition ever! We were chosen by Alliance 2 to help them in the finals. Our alliance made the semi-finals and lost to some amazing teams!
Durham College District Event – March 2024 – Winner
Our second event for the season. Again, chosen by Alliance 2 to assist them in the finals, we did our best to assist which led to a win!
Durham College District Event – March 2024 – Rookie Inspiration Award
We were honoured by being given the Rookie Inspiration Award. It recognizes our effectiveness and inventiveness of the team’s efforts to recruit students to engineering; extent and effectiveness of the team’s community outreach efforts; a commitment to science and technology education among the team; and ability to communicate understanding of the FIRST mission at the competition and away from it.
Provincial Championships – April 2024
Our ranking at the District Events allowed us to be invited to the Provincial Championship in April 2024. Although we did not make it to the finals, the students had a fantastic time meeting new teams from all over the province, troubleshooting robot issues during the competition (and solving them!) and enjoying the final match and the awards that were given. We overall ranked 50th out of 138 teams.
